The study of Pali language is to understand the Buddhist scriptures. The Buddhists who are believed in Theravada Buddhism in Southeast Asia use Pali language in the study of the Buddha’s teachings. Colophon: Folio 26 on the recto side: Suphamasatu phamaha sakkarat (CS) 1198, a hwai san year, the first day of the waxing moon of the nineth lunar month, the fifth day of the week (Thursday), a ka pao day. The writing was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). A younger brother of the king of Lan Xang Hom Khao kingdom, along with Uparat (Viceroy), the great king and the queen, princes, princess and all relatives had the pleasure, the most ardent religious faith in the Buddha’s Teachings and kindness, to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Khamphi ruttamānantāthikhunchao, which is the great one, in order to support the Teachings of the Buddha for the future and for its wide spreading in the kingdom of Sisattanakhanahut Uttamarasathani to last until the end of 5000 years. Amen, amen! The alms I have already given. Nibbāna is the greatest bliss.
