Atthasālinī with the whole text written in Pali is the commentary on the Dhammasangani of Abhidhamma Pitaka was composed by Sri Lankan Venerable Bhuddhagosa in the fifth centry. In addition to explaining the technical terms and words of conciousness, mental factors, corporeality, and nibbāna in the Dhammasangani, it also provides information on history and geography. Atthasālinī scripture is very popular among the students who study the Abhidhamma. Colophon: Folio 1 on the recto side: Chunlasangkat (CS) 1182, a kat si year, the seventh day of the waning moon of the seventh lunar month, the seventh day of the week (Saturday), a poek san day. Akkhavora Rasakhu, abbot of Vat Phonkaeo offered gold and silver to His Majesty the King of Chanthabuli kingdom, in order to sponsor the making of this manuscript and to support Buddhism in Luang Prabang. The writing of this manuscript was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). Pali atthasalini.
