The text was written in Pali language. Mahavagga means the great section is on the disciplinary rules outside the Patimokkha and is the name of the scripture which is the third of the five sections of the Vinaya Pitaka, containing ten chapters. 1. Maha khandhaka is on the ordinations. 2. Uposatha khandhaka is on the uposatha and sima. 3. Vassupanayika khandhaka is on the entry of the Buddhist Lent. 4. Pavarana khandhaka is on the invitation. 5. Camma khandhaka is on the leather goods such as shoes and ramps. 6. Bhesajjha khandhaka is on the medicine, and the things are allowable, unallowable and up to the times. 7. Kathina khandhaka is on the Kathina robes. 8. Civara khandhaka is on the robes. 9. Campeyya khandhaka is on the punishments. 10. Kosambi khandhaka is on the quarrels among the monks of Kosambi and the Sangha unity. Colophon: Folio 26 on the recto side: Chunlasangkat 143 (corresponding with CS 1143), a huang pao day, the fifth day of the waxing moon of the fifth lunar month, the second day of the week (Monday), a tao san day, the writing was accomplished in the late afternoon (between 15.00–16.30 o’clock). The royal king sponsored the making of this manuscript [entitled] Pali Vinaiya Pitaka Mahavak, to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May this be a condition to reach Nibbāna.
