This manuscript contains two stories including sòng phutthahup and sòng phòk phachao. Sòng phutthahup means the merit gained by making Buddha images with different material. Such as making the Buddha image of tin will be born as a deva; making of silver will become an great king; making of the stone or flowers will be born as Indra; making of sandalwood will become the king of the kings; painting the image on the cloth or sheet metal will be a great brahma; making of natural gold if wish to the position of a Buddha, or a private Buddha and or a disciple, the wish will be fullfilled. Colophon: Folio 7 on the recto side: In Buddhist Era (BE) 2516 - 2517, a ka pao year, the fifteenth day of the waning moon of the sixth lunar month, Wednesday, [the writing was accomplished] at the time of kòng laeng (between 13.30–15.00 o’clock). His Holiness Somdet Pha Sangkharat (Supreme Patriarch) Thammanyana Maha Thera from Vat Mai Souvannaphummara, Luang Prabang, had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Sòng phuttahup, to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May my wishes and desires come true. May this be a condition to reach Nibbāna in the future. Amen, amen!
