The four heavenly kings are gods, each of whom is believed to watch over one cardinal direction of the world. On the Buddhist holiday of the eighth day of the waxing or waxing moon, the ministers of the four heavenly kings will watch over the world. On the Buddhist holiday of the fifteenth day of the waxing or waxing moon, the four heavenly kings themselves watch over the world. They watch over the world in order to see the human beings that they still cherish their parents, support the ordained persons, respect the elder people, observe the precepts, and give alms or not? The four kings regularly report the devas at the meeting of the devas in Tavatimsa. Whenever, the human beings do regularly observing the precepts and giving alms, the divine bodies of the devas are more shiny. On the contrast, the asuras (demons) are less shiny. But when the human beings do less observing the precepts and giving alms, the divine bodies of the devas are less shiny. On the contrast, the asuras (demons) are more shiny. Colophon: Folio 23 on the recto side: Sangkat 2390 years, the twelfth day of the waxing moon of the fourth lunar month, the sixth day of the week (Saturday), in a suat year (Year of the rat), twice eight months, samritthisok (called the lunar year that ends in 0). Hua Chao Khamkhai had the religious faith and made the manuscript of this Chetiyathatsavaluka Pitaka for the Teachings of the Buddha. May all my wishes become true. May this be a condition to reach Nibbāna.
