ພູຣິທັດ (ຜູກ ໒)

King Phommathat who ruled Varanasi kingdom had a son as his viceroy. One day, the king suspected his son to overthrow and take his throne. Thus, the king sent his son to far away. The prince could return home only after the death of his father. The prince became an ascetic living in a hut near the Yumana river. At the time, there was a divorced nagi named Manavika who lived alone nearby. She was lonely. So she came to the human world. When she met the prince, they fell in love with each other. Later they married and had one son and one daughter named Sakhone Phommathat and Samutthasa respectively. Colophon: Folio 26 on the recto side: Chunlasangkat (CS) 1222, a kot san year, on the third day of the waning moon of the eleventh lunar month, the third day of the week (Tuesday). The younger brother of the king, who was director of the royal palace on the back, had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Thotsat (Dasajāti, the ten birth-stories of the Buddha) to support the Teachings of the Buddha.
