Korrajulu Hakku Patras

Korrajulu Hakku Patras. Korraju is a sub caste of Nayakapodu tribe, inhabited in the Adilabad district area. They are known for singing ‘Padmanayaka Vrittantam, which is their caste mythological narrative. They visit, assigned villages in every three years to collect their Hakku (honorarium). They also sing episodes from Mahabharatha such as virataparvam, Pandava Vanavasam, Shashi Rekha Parinayam and others. Nayakapodu tribe treats Korraju as caste elders and priests. These families have migrated one and half century back from Dandakaranya area to Warangal district.
