A collection of twelve exercise books filled with poems, songs and dramas written by Kazi Nazrul Islam, dating from 1933 to 1941, approximately. The exercise books are of the Elephant brand, the Swan brand, the Skolar brand, and the Bull-Dog brands. This collection was originally in the possession of the poet's family in India until they were entrusted to the Nazrul Academy, and then to Kazi Nazrul University, Asansol, India. Despite their resilience, these materials are on the brink of irreversible decay, a tragic fate for works of such cultural significance. The chief author of the exercise books is Kazi Nazrul Islam. However, some pages of some exercise books contain writings of his wife, Pramila Nazrul Islam, and sons, Kazi Sabyasachi and Kazi Aniruddha, alongside some other writings of unidentifiable hands.
Extent: 13 exercise books containing 774 pages.
