This collection features journals, newspaper supplements, Bible lessons, morning spiritual readings ("Morning Watch"), and prayer readings published by the Seventh-day Adventist Church and others. It also includes secular magazines and those from other religious denominations. The periodicals, in Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, and Romanian, were published across the Russian Empire, the USSR, and other countries. Adventist magazines began official distribution in the Russian Empire in January 1905, with the launch of the Adventist International Tract Society in Hamburg, Germany. The first Russian-language magazine printed there was "Maslina," published from 1905 to 1913. Following the 1917 Revolution and civil war, millions emigrated from Russia, forming significant Russian-speaking communities in the Baltic countries, Poland, Romania, Finland, China, and later the USA and Australia. Adventist periodicals continued to be published in these regions in their native languages. In the 1920s, Russian-language Adventist magazines were published in Harbin, China, including "Family Friend," "Voice of Truth," "Source of Life," and others, ceasing in 1935 when Japan occupied Harbin. In the 1920s and 1930s, Russian-language magazines like "Znamenie Vremeni" (Sign of the Times) and others were published in Poland until the German occupation in 1939. In Chicago (USA), the Russian-language Adventist magazine "Sign of the Times" has been published since 1916, with some interruptions. It resumed in 1963 and continued monthly until the 1980s. Additionally, "The Last News" and "The Real Truth" were published in the USA, with "The Real Truth" also issued by Russian-speaking emigrants in Sydney during the 1950s-60s.

Custodial history: This collection, gathered from 1993 to 2021 by Oleh Arutyunov, was collected among the members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ukraine. It was ransferred to the Adventist archive-museum in Bucha in parts from 1996 to 2024.
Arrangement: The labelling for all archival and museum funds in the collection was compiled by Oleg Nikolaevich Arutyunov, a clergyman and the director of the SDA Church archive-museum in Ukraine.
