It aimed at reforming the Hindu society and creating a platform for rational thinking, scientific temper, and social progress. The basic principles of Brahmo Samaj include belief in one universal God, rejection of idol worship, recognition of the equality of all humans, and emphasis on education and women's rights. It played a crucial role in the Indian Renaissance and laid the foundation for future socio-religious reform movements in the country. The Sadharan Brahmo Samaj was founded in 1878 as a result of a schism within the Brahmo Samaj and it represented the more progressive and socially conscious faction of Brahmonism.It developed an elaborate all-India network and promoted social harmony and progressive thinking.
