Al-Telegraph (The Telegraph): Published daily and in a weekly edition every Noon and every Monday morning, Al-Telegraph is a political daily newspaper established in 1930 by Nassib Al-Matni (1910-1958), a Lebanese journalist and president of the Lebanese Press Editors’ Syndicate, who was assassinated on May 8, 1958 in Beirut. The editorial secretary is Toufic Al-Matni. Al-Telegraph was involved in the daily press struggle out of belief in its national mission to oppose any government that does not fulfill the will of the people in Lebanon, and to fight against all “shortcomings” and “clichés”. A popular newspaper in every sense of the word, it became a point of convergence for free writers and journalists who would not be hired or swayed. Its primary mission is to work alongside the nation’s emerging educated youth to act as a bridge for determined true patriots. The motto of Al-Telegraph is equality and union among all Lebanese regardless of their religious denominations.
