جوبيتر

Jupiter: An economic, ethics, and literary magazine founded by Youssef Fadlallah Salameh as a monthly publication in 1929, before turning into a weekly newspaper, which was later politicized and was rebaptized Al-Aasr newspaper in 1942. Jupiter’s objective was to be of benefit to the region of Baalbeck and help its otherwise faint voice reach decisionmakers, call for reforms and development, promote summer tourism, spread sound health and agricultural practices, and publish judicial announcements, which used to cost stakeholders and tribunals a lot of money to send to newspapers in places way removed from the Baalbeck region.

جوبيتر: مجلّة اقتصاديّة أخلاقيّة أدبيّة، أنشأها يوسف فضل الله سلامه عام 1929 كمجلّة شهريّة، ثمّ أصبحت جريدة أسبوعيّة. غير أنّها أصبحت مسيّسة وتغيّر اسمها عام 1942 لتصبح جريدة العصر. هدف الجريدة منفعة منطقة بعلبك التي ليس لها صوتٌ عالٍ، في مطالبة ولاة الأمور بالإصلاح والعمران وفي بثّ الدعوة للاصطياف وزرع الأصول الصحّيّة والزراعيّة ونشر الإعلانات القضائيّة التي يتكلّف أصحاب المصالح والمحكمة لإرسالها إلى جرائد بعيدة عن المنطقة البعلبكيّة.
