El Centroamericano was a daily that circulated in Leon, northwest of Nicaragua, during the 1930's. Its Director was Gustavo Abaunza. It was a newspaper that sympathized with the liberal government of that period led by President Juan B. Sacasa and with the rising leadership of Anastasio Somoza García. In this series, news coverage on the judicial process of Oliverio Castañeda, an infamous character of the period, can be read. Condition of original material: The 1934 hardcover binding presents some deterioration, due to humidity, specially in the firsts and last issues that have some broken sheets and are unbound.
