Previous research stated that El Centro-Americano circulated in the period 1857-1867 (Hemeroteca Nacional "Manolo Cuadra". (1992). Catálogo de periódicos y revistas de Nicaragua (1830-1930).Instituto Nicaragüense de Cultura, Biblioteca Nacional "Rubén Darío".). However, the issues of this series are from the year of 1882 which makes circulation of this newspaper longer than believed. The newspaper was edited in Granada and represented the interests of the Conservative party in a period that they were in power that was known as República Conservadora (1858-1893).
