Unidad

Unidad was a weekly newspaper that circulated in Managua from -at least- 1943 to 1947. It was considered the official newspaper of the Socialist Party of Nicaragua. Its Director was Domingo García Z. It was edited in typography Mercurio and later in typography Nueva Prensa. Its circulation was suspended temporarily. Its slogan was "For Justice ad Culture." This newspaper contains news and commentary about the approval of the first law to protect workers' rights in Nicaragua, legislation known in the country as Código del Trabajo. Extent: There are issues of Unidad in two different bindings that contain a mix of different newspapers. The first one is a hardcover binding containing 20 issues of La Verdad in addition to 56 issues of Unidad and 34 issues of Voz Obrera. There is a second binding (no hardcover) that contains 6 issues of Unidad, 31 issues of Ahora! and 25 issues of Voz Popular.
