La Verdad was a weekly newspaper published in Managua between April 26 and August 30 of 1942. Its Director was Alvaro Pérez. It was the official newspaper of the marxist group called Socialist Party of Nicaragua (PSN) that acted under the name of "Movimiento PRO-HOY". This newspaper had an antifacist position and it was violently closed by the National Guard of the Somoza regime. It was edited in Typography "Atenas". Its slogan was "For the service of the people."
