This collection contains Portuguese manuscript documents from the Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Porto das Caixas, Itaboraí, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The volumes were produced during the colonial, Imperial, and Republican periods and include baptismal records (1846-1888), marriage records (1846-1868), and burial records (1846-1902) of free, freed (forro/liberto), and enslaved people. Custodial history: The volumes were produced by the Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Porto das Caixas, Itaboraí-RJ. In accordance with local custom and Canonical Law, all documentation of a permanent nature produced by the Parish is transferred to the Archive of the Archdiocese of Niterói after 70 years.
