This collection contains Portuguese manuscript documents from the Church of São Pedro da Aldeia, in the present day city of São Pedro da Aldeia, and once a part of Cabo Frio, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The volumes were produced during the colonial, Imperial, and Republican periods and include baptismal records (1794-1930), marriage records (1826-1887) and burial records (1824-1891) of free, freed (forro/liberto), and enslaved people. Custodial history: The volumes were produced by the Church of São Pedro da Aldeia, São Pedro da Aldeia-RJ. In accordance with local custom and Canonical Law, all documentation of a permanent nature produced by the Parish is transferred to the Archive of the Archdiocese of Niterói after 70 years.
