The book documents the division of Zirandaro, including a census; replacement of the representative of Huetamo over the lease of lands; litigation and lease of the island of Charachando; allocation of lands of Tlapehuala; and a census of Purechucho. It includes correspondence, petitions, and receipts, as well as a map of Characharando and the Balsas River that divides the states of Michoacán and Guerrero. The volume consists of 256 folios, which have been bound together and numbered. Documents relating to specific communities and/or processes are roughly grouped together and loosely ordered by date. The volume shows some deterioration, with some individual folios in poor condition.
