Title in original script: கொங்கணர் பெருநூல்- 1000 The manuscript is formed by a text written in verses on 51 palm leaves numbered from 1 to 74. Numerous leaves are missing. The manuscript is in average condition; a few leaves, notably that numbered 65, are damaged by larvae or are broken. The text by Koṅkaṇar, entitled Koṅkaṇar Perunūl- 1000, is incomplete as it contains only 645 verses. The text approach two main subjects: yoga, preparation of medicines. The information on yoga covers the practice from the beginning stage to the highest stage, that to attain supreme salvation: a stage when an individual engaged in deep asceticism (cañcāra camāti) is no longer involve in the mundane life (laya camāti kalpam), has no longer sense of appreciation (nirvikāra kalpam) and movement. The second part of the text concerns formulations of medicines and iatrochemical processes. The formulations of medicines are: medicated oils, Kentaka tailam and Aiṅkōla tailam; calcined products based on metals and minerals, Kerukkal, Kalnār and Nāka paṟpam, Apraka and Nāka vaṅka cuṇṇam, Turucu centūram; pills, Turucu kuru and Raca ūñcal cippi; and fumigation called Kapiri tūmam based on Feronia elephantum. The iatrochemical processes concern the method to extract mica (apraka cattu) and purification of copper (cempu cutti). The text describes a crucible made of five types of calcined medicine (pañca cuṇṇa kukai) which is used to melt metals. Additionally, the text approaches various subjects such as the proportion of the five elements in the body (pañcapūta māṉam); the preaching (upatēcam) of the cittar Karuvūrār; the prediction of the future of a person from his/her zodiac sign; explanation on the second zodiac sign called riṣapam. Size of the manuscript: 45,0cm x 4,3cm. The text is composed of palm leaves numbered from 1 to 74. The leaves 5-8, 32-34, 36-41, 46-47, 50-56, 64 and 68-69 are missing. Two additional blank leaves open and close the text. The manuscript is in average condition; the leaves are more and less affected by larvae. The leaf n° 65 is very damaged and some leaves, broken, have no longer their numbering.
