Topics covered in the letters include: arrest of Antonio Joaquim, a black man under suspect of being a runaway slave; arrest of two black males and one black female found wandering after curfew; bonus granted to the amanuensis of the Police Secretary; arrest of São Bento Convent's slave Clemente, and freed black Teresa , for public inebriation after curfew; escape of prisoners from police escort while performing cleaning services; among others.
