Tally Cards

Dates of original material: 1965; 1973. 2 printed 'tally cards' - forms which record the withdrawal of engine oil from the stores department. The forms record who withdrew the oil, how much, the date, and how much oil remained in the stores. These forms formed part of the wider stores accounting system and entries were posted to ledgers, which are now missing. However the cards are one of the few remaining sources which record names of railway staff in the latter part of the 20th century. One form is double-sided, the other single-sided. Custodial history: Found in the National Workshops and claimed by the SL NRM.
