Zeballos [1900s-1940s]

Description: This handmade envelope contains newspapers’ and magazines’ clippings and articles, photos, and engravings on Estanislao Zeballos (1854-1923). He “was a prominent Argentine journalist, lawyer and politician. He published a series of books and articles about many relevant subjects: the Araucanian indian, the agricultural colonies in the province of Santa Fe, the ius sanguinis-ius solis question, and the impact of European immigration in Argentina. Together with many other contemporary public men of his country, Zeballos believed in the possibility of constituting a new nation upon immigrants. However, he was also concerned about the problems related to a multicultural society and helped rebuilding a sense of national identity.” See, Sánchez, S.
