Description: This handmade and tampered envelope contains photos and newspapers’ and magazines’ articles and clippings that inform us about the Hogar (or Home) inspired by the charitable Miss Victoria Aguirre (1860-1927) who was considered to be a model of what single women should be in the upper class. She spent her life working for different private charities as well as being an active member of the Sociedad Benéfica. This Home was for girls and young women who had been abandoned or had criminal records. It was both a home and a school. Extent of original: Handmade envelope .
