The Bodhisattva was born as Dukkhattiya Kumara, the son of King Paranta and Queen Chantavimala of Varanasi was exiled from the city by the king because of the six wives who insulted that Queen Chantavimala gave birth to a dog. While in the forest, both mother and child were separated. Dukkhattiya was taken care by Indra and Indra created a vehicle in a golden swallow shape for him. Later, all the wives also gave birth to six sons. At the time, the giant Kumbanda disturbed and caught the people for food and caused trouble to the people in Varanasi. Dukkhattiya therefore rode on the golden swallow vehicle to defeat the giant until they all died. When the six princes heard the news, they went to report the king that they could kill the giants. Later, Dukkhattiya rode on the golden swallow vehicle to take his grandmother who was the king’s mother was hidden in the forest by zombies to the king. The six princes tricked Dukkhattiya and killed him, and then took her to the king. At the time, Indra rescued Dukkhattiya and he was revived. Later the king's mother told him that the person who helped her was Dukkhattiya, not the 6 princes. When the King learned the truth, he ordered to take the six princes and those wives to death and then invited Chantavimala who was in the garden to return to the palace as before.
