Kammavaca (the formal words of an act) with the text mostly written in Pali is used for an ordination ceremony. General speaking, the kammavacha (kammavācā) deals with the set of questions and answers which is used in an ordination ceremony. In the ceremony, the ordaining monk must answer several “yes or no” questions posed to him by a monk on his right during a chant called Pha Kammavachanchan (Act-announcing teacher) who faces another monk on the left called Pha Anusavanachan (Ordination proclaiming teacher). Colophon: Folio 49 on the recto and verso sides: Sangkatrasa (BE) 2469 to 2470, a thò year, on the eleventh day of the waning moon of the sixth lunar month, the fifth day of the week (Thursday), the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng laeng (between 13.30–15.00 o’clock). Mòm (Monk) Sisuphan from Vat Tham monastery had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Sap Kammavācā to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May my desires and wishes come true. May this be a condition for me to reach Nirvana. May I not forget the Buddhs’a teachings what I have learned.
