Sirasa Jataka tells about the previous life of the Buddha when he was born as Sirasa Kumara, the last son of King Pathamaraja and Queen Surasidevi of the kingdom of Pupphavadi. When the Bodhisatta was being born, he came out of his mother's mouth. Therefore, he was accused by a bad Brahma named Majjhahayaka, who was a priest, of being kalakini (unfortunate). The king disbelieved. So, the Bodhisatta was banished on a raft. Colophon: Folio 17 on the recto side: Sangkat (CS) 1237, a hap khai year, on the fourth day of the waxing moon of the fourth lunar month, the first day of the week (Sunday), a hap pao day, [the writing was accomplished] at the time of kòng laeng (between 13.30–15.00 o’clock). The initiator, Maha Somdet Akkhavòlarasakhu Kunlabuttapannya from Vat Chumkhòng monastery had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Sirasā Jataka (Story of Sirasa) to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May this be a condition to reach Nirvana.
