ໃນສະໄໝພຸດທະການ ມີພິກຂຸນີຕົນໜຶ່ງ ປະຕິບັດວິປັດສະນາກໍາມະຖານ ຈົນໄດ້ບັນລຸທໍາ ເຫັນດ້ວຍຕາທິບ ສັດນະຮົກທັງຫລາຍທີ່ຖືກທໍລະມານແລະວຽນວາຍຕາຍເກີດຢູ່ໃນນະຮົກນັ້ນ. ສັດນະຮົກບາງພວກກໍ່ໄດ້ຮັບການທໍລະມານຈົນຕາຍ ແລ້ວກັບໄປເກີດໃນນະຮົກນັ້ນອີກ. ພິກຂຸນີຈຶ່ງເຂົ້າເຝົ້າພະພຸດທະເຈົ້າ ແລ້ວທູນຖາມວ່າ ເຫດໃດສັດນະຮົກເຫລົ່ານັ້ນຈຶ່ງໄດ້ຮັບຄວາມທຸກທໍລະມານຢູ່ຢ່າງນັ້ນບໍ່ຈົບບໍ່ສິ້ນ? ພະພຸດທະອົງ ຈຶ່ງຕັດວ່າ ເຫດທີ່ສັດນະຮົກກເຫລົ່ານັ້ນໄດ້ຮັບຄວາມທຸກຂະເວທະນານັ້ນ ກໍ່ເພາະວິບາກກໍາທີ່ເຂົາໄດ້ກະທໍາໄວ້ ເມື່ອຄັ້ງຍັງເປັນມະນຸດ ພວກເຂົາໄດ້ກະທໍາກໍາອັນເປັນບາບ ມີທັງກໍາໜັກ ແລະກໍາເບົາ ຈຶ່ງໄດ້ຮັບຜົນຂອງກໍານັ້ນໃນນະຮົກທີ່ແຕກຕ່າງກັນ.
In the Buddha’s time, a bhikkhuni (female monk) who practiced vipassana meditation and attained a high stage of the Dhamma saw with her divine eye the hell beings being tortured and circled in the hells. The female monk went to the presence of the Buddha and asked the Buddha that why those hell-beings were suffering with never-ending? The Buddha said, those hell-beings were suffering like that was because of the results of their bad actions. While they were alive, they conducted various kinds of bad deeds, severe and light. Therefore, they were suffering in the different hells.
