Rewards derived from the construction of monastic walls. Once upon a time, the Bodhisatta was born in the family of a rich man in Varanasi in the time of Kassapa Buddha. At the time, the Bodhisatta saw a monk who was practicing meditation alone in the forest. The Bodhisatta had the religious faith in the monk and put bricks surrounding the monk’s place as walls in order to make the place as a temple. When the construction of the wall had finished, he donated the wall to the monk. After the death, the Bodhisatta was born in the heaven with heavenly properties. Colophon: Folio 11 on the recto side: Sangkatrasa one hundred and 71 (corresponding with CS 1171), a tao san year, the writing was accomplished on a tao si day. Kwan Heuankaeo and his wife together with his children and relatives jointly sponsored the making of this manuscript entitled Sapphasòng to support the Teachings of the Buddha. May this be a condition to reach Nibbāna.
