ຄັ້ງໜຶ່ງ ພະພຸດທະອົງຊົງຕັດໄວ້ວ່າ ໃນກາລະພາຍພາກໜ້າ ເມື່ອສາສະໜາຂອງພະຕະຄາຄົດລ່ວງໄປແລ້ວ ຈະມີພະສີອະຣິຍະເມດໄຕລົງມາເກີດໃນເມືອງ ເກຕຸມະຕິນະຄອນ ເມືອງນີ້ ມີຄວາມຍາວໄດ້ ໑໒ ໂຫຍດ ແລະກວ້າງໄດ້ ໗ ໂຫຍດ ຊຶ່ງເປັນເມືອງທີ່ມີຊັບສົມບັດມາກ ແລະບໍລິບູນດ້ວຍເຄື່ອງອຸປະໂພກບໍລິໂພກ. ເມື່ອສາສະໜາຂອງພະຕະຖາຄົດສິ້ນໄປແລ້ວ ໂລກຈະເຂົ້າສູ່ຍຸກແຫ່ງຄວາມເສື່ອມຖອຍ ອາຍຸໄຂຂອງມະນຸດຈະລຸດລົງຈົນເຫລືອ ໑໐ ປີ ແລະຈະມີເສິກສົງຄາມຂ້າລັນຟັນແທງກັນ ຄົນຊົ່ວກໍຈະຕາຍ ຈະເຫລືອແຕ່ຄົນດີທີຮັກສາສີນ ປະຕິບັດທໍາ. ເມື່ອມະນຸດເລີ່ມທໍາຄວາມດີ ຈາກນັ້ນອາຍຸໄຂຂອງມະນຸດກໍຈະເລີ່ມເພີ່ມຂຶ້ນເລື່ອຍໆ ຈົນຮອດ ໘໐,໐໐໐ ປີ ໃນເວລານັ້ນຈະມີພະໂພທິສັດທີ່ບໍາເພັນບາລະມີຄົບ ໘໐ ອະສົງໄຂແລະແສນມະຫາກັບ ລົງມາຕັດສະຮູ້ເປັນພະພຸດທະເຈົ້າ ຊົງພະນາມວ່າ ພະສີອະຣິຍະເມດໄຕ.
At one time, the Buddha said, in the future after his Teachings has been gone, Ariya Mettey will be born in Ketumati city. This city has 12 yojana length and 7 yojana width and is a city with rich of treasures and consumables. After the Buddha’s Teachings, the world will go into the age of degeneration. The lifespan of the human beings is shorter, is up to 10 years only. There will have wars and fighting. Bad men will die, only good men remain. Then the human beings will cultivate goodness, their life span will go up gradually until 80,000 years. At this time, the Bodhisatta who has fulfilled his perfections for 80 asongkhai (countless) and one hundred thousand eons will be born and attain enlightenment and become a Buddha named Ariya Mettey.
