Mahāpaṭṭhāna is the seventh book of the Abhidhamma explains the 24 factors and presents the causal relations of all the Dhammas. It is a scripture that the Buddha has prophesied that will be lost as the first book. Because it is a scripture with the delicate contents, profoundness, prudence and with the factors of ultimate reality. When the Buddha considered the 7 Abhidhamma scriptures, starting from the 1st to 6th scriptures respectively, nothing special happened. However, when the Buddha considered this seventh book, six rays emerged from his body. Colophon: Folio 35 on the recto side: In Chunlasangkat 2 hundred and 1 (corresponding with CS 1201),, a kat khai year on the ninth day of the waxing moon of the fifth lunar month, the seventh day of the week (Saturday), a kat chai day, the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). Chao Kom Mahalek or Prince Khambua had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Phamahapatthan (Satipatthana) to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May I reach the three states of happiness. Nibbāna paccayo hotu dhuvaṃ dhuvaṃ (May this be a condition to reach Nibbāna, certainly and certainly).
