The Nemirat Jataka is a story in which the Bodhisattva was born as King Nemirat ruled Mithila. When he was young, he was interested in giving alms, observing the ubosatha precepts and practicing the Dharma and praying to do so continually. When he ascended the throne instead of his ordained father, he taught the people to observe the precepts and make merit throughout the kingdom. The fruit of this good deed is glorified throughout heaven and on earth. When all those people died, they were born as angels. They all realized that it was because of King Nemirat that they really wanted to come back to see His Majesty again. Therefore, Indra gave Matali the god to take a chariot to bring King Nemirat to see heaven and hell and invite the king to enjoy heaven. But the king did not accept. He came back to the human world and taught people to continue doing good deeds in order not to go to hell. Finally, he abdicated the throne to his son and went to ordination in the mango forest until his death. The perfection of this story is "Perfection of Determination". Colophon: Folio 25 on the recto side: Chunlasangkat (CS) 1267, a hap sai year, on the seventh day of the waxing moon of the eighth lunar month, the third day of the week (Tuesday), a hwai sanga day. Maha Somdet Phothipannya from Vat Tham is the scribe. Phia Homsombat and his wife jointly sponsored the making of this manuscript to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May the results of this merit support all of us forever to last until entering Nirvana. Nbbana paccayo hotu no niccaṃ dhuvaṃ paramaṃ sukhaṃ (May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvana, constantly and certainly, the greatest bliss).
