The text tells the importance of the three doctrines and the three robes. The three doctrines consist of Vinaya Pitaka, Abhidhamma Pitaka and Suttanta Pitaka which are called Tipitaka. The three robes consist of pha sanghati (the outer robe), pha chivòn (the cover robe), and pha sabong (the inner robe). The three robes are important for monks. Without the robes, a man cannot be ordained as a monk. The Teachings of the Buddha consist of the Tipitaka. Without the Tipitaka, no Buddhism. Pha chivòn is compared with the Vinaya Pitaka. Pha sangkhati is compared with the the Abhidhamma Pitaka, Pha sabong is compared with the Suttanta Pitaka. Colophon: Folio 26 on the recto side: Chunlasangkat (CS) 1266, a kap si year, the ninth day of the waning moon of the fourth lunar month, the third day of the week (Tuesday), the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng laeng (between 13.30–15.00 o’clock). Thit Siphan and his wife, Sao Tan together with their parents and all their chidren had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Tham 3 (The Tipitaka), bundle 4, to support the Teachings of the Buddha.
