வள்ளியம்மன் அம்மானை

This material is a Tamil palm-leaf manuscript from Eastern Province, Sri Lanka. This palmleaf manuscript consists of the legend of vaḷḷiyammaṉ ammāṉai or the goddess vaḷḷi who was passionately pursued by and was married to the lord murukaṉ. This well known Tamil legend was written in this manuscript by aṟumakkuṭṭi kuñcittampi from ampiḷāntuṟai in the year 1968. It is said to have been sold to vēlaṉ kaṇapati as a valuable artefact in 1974. The 244 pages that are available covers the entire story and various subplots involving of vaḷḷi, murukaṉ and his other wife teyvāṉai. Extent: 244.0.
