This material is a Tamil palm-leaf manuscript titled ‘Story of Kovalan’ from Eastern Province, Sri Lanka. This manuscript is written by Kaṇṇappōṭi son of Katirkāmappōṭi and Āvaṉāccippōṭi from Batticaloa on 3rd May 1786. This is owned by Kaṟpūrappōṭi kaṉakacapai from Batticaloa. This manuscript contains the story of Kovalan, husband of Kaṇṇaki. It contains Am'maṉ piṟanta katai, kōvalaṉukkum kaṇṇakikkum maṇam muṭikkum katai, mañcakkenti katai, kappal vaitta katai, kaṭalōṭṭuk katai as subtitles. This manuscript contains only 496 pages. The manuscript is partially damaged and deteriorated state however, the letters of this manuscript are clear to read. The protective cover is made up of teak. Extent: 494.0.
