Prince Madrais Alibasa Manuscript No. 31

The manuscript No.31 is written in a set of loose folios. The size is 34 x 21.5 cm and 35 x 21.5 cm. The condition of paper is brittle, perforated, taped and yellowing. The ink penetrates to the reverse side, but the writing is still readable. In this manuscript, Prince Madrais explains his teachings. What called as jembatan lima merapat opat is words, life, sense, soul and spiritual. Religion comes to the world to guide human beings. There was a legitimation of customary and marriage regulation by government. Madrais was just brave to explain that Java must use the its script, custom and culture of Java so that it will be order in organizing the country. Therefore, the first thing should be aware is nation and custom. The second is the origin and all the creations including humans must obey the God’s decree. Struggling for Java, He felt hard to make Javanese people aware of their true identity. The life of Java is humiliated by the Javanese.This manuscript tells also about regulation of lending, the way to plant onions and the rules of buying and selling land and rice fields.
