Prince Madrais Alibasa Manuscript No. 61

The manuscript No.61 is written in a set of loose folios. The size is 34 x 21.5 cm. The condition of paper is brittle, torn and yellowing. The ink penetrates to the reverse side, but the writing is still readable. In this manuscript, Prince Madrais explains his teachings, historical facts about his life and a letter to Raden Wila Wilatra. What Prince Madrais was writing called as the book of Java. It describes balancing desire, feeling and thinking to remove the bad influence which close humans mind. In tye dolonial era, thee land of Java was like as being sold to foreign nation. The body and soul of people were shackled and none knew to release it. If a figure appeared to care for poor people, he would be sent into prison and his wealthy would be seized. Prince Madrais was suffering. Many groups of people and Dutch colonial government wanted to destroy religion of Java Sunda. In letter to Raden Wila Wilatra, Prince Madrais refused Raden Wila’s proposal to his daughter, Ratu Sukainten. He felt his daughter was still to young to get married.
