Pha Maha Vandi Virayano [1961]

Pha Maha Vandi Virayano, Abbot of Vat Aphai. There is a dedication in hand writing under of this photograph: Pha Maha Vandi Virayano, Abbot of Vat Aphai, Luang Prabang, given to Mr. Phia Chanthi-Mrs. Phia Buasi the suppoters of my ordination ceremony for souvenir on the occasion of 14 years of my being Buddhist monk. [ordination held on first month of Lao calenda, 2nd day of waning moon, 1948], given on first month of Lao calenda, 2nd day of waning moon, 1981".Biography: He came from the Province of Phongsali to Vat Aphai, Luang Prabang for further Buddhist studying at Buddhist secondary school. After getting his diploma there and had finished his studies, he he taught there for many years. He had great expert on calculating Lao horoscope and Lao calendar. He had printed Lao calendars and distributed to the people for many years. He passed away on March 23, 1991 at his Kuti Vat Aphai at the age of 64 and 44 years as a Budhist monk. His born was buried at the outside-back wall of the Sim of Vat Aphai.
