Buddhist monks go to pilgrimage visit Buddhist sites in India. Taken during a pilgrimage visit to pagoda where Buddha passed away in Kusinara, India in 1970s. King Asoka Maharaj used to visit this place and he offered money one hundred thousand Rupee (Indian currency) to build pagoda to where Buddha passed away under two Sala tree on 15th waxing moon day of 6th month of Lao calendar before Buddhist era 1 year, they built cover the Buddha stand of nirvana and Sala tree, the Pagoda look like upside down alms bowl. this photo was taken in 1970s.
