Somdet Phra Sangharat Dhammayana Maha Thera took senior monks from Luang Prabang and Vientiane to educate Buddhism in Luang Namtha province in 1957 (B.E.2500). Somdet Phra Sangharat Dhammayana Maha Thera (in the middle), Phra Ajan Maha Khoun Manivong of Vat That Luang Neua in Vientiane, who also the Sanghanayok of the Lao Buddhist Sangha (right), Phra Ajan Maha Phong Samaleuk of Vat Ong Tue in Vientiane (left) and Sathou Nyai Khamfanh Silasangvaro, the Abbot of Vat Khili and also Chao Khana Khoueng of Luang Prabang (who turns his back to us). This photograph shows they had lunch at a temple in Luang Namtha.
