The Water Melon stupa at Vat Visounnarath. It was said that "That Pa Thom" means big lotus stupa, but Lao people apposed that it seemed like a water melon, therefore it was named a Water Melon stupa until now. In history said it was Queen Phra Nang Phantinxieng of King Visounnarath asked to build the stupa to cover the Xoua pond in front of Sim of Vat Viounnarath in C.S.876. It took a year and seven months to finally finish in 27th August in 1914.
