Legend has it Vat Tath Luang Luangprabang was originally established by Ashokan missionaries from India in the 3rd century BC,and current Sim was built in 1818 under the reign of King Manthaturat.The ashes of Buddha and of King Sisavang Vong and his brother are enterred inside the large central stupa.which was erected in 1910.name is; Sithammahayasokarat stupa...So.the yearly celebration ceremony of Vat Taht Luang Luangprabang was on fullmoon Luna calenda in November and be one of five monasteries that involve the King's activities.(Text from Lao lonely plannet).This photo was taken in 1954.
