The eighteen elbows Buddha statue is located at Vat Saen Soukharam. The reason that we called "The eighteen elbows Buddha statue" because the Buddha statue is eighteen elbows height. It was built in C.E. 1738, and it was 234 years in C.E. 1972 and it was very shabby. It was repaired in C.E. 1972 by Sathou Nyai Khamchan Virachitta Mahathera (1920-2007), the abbot of Vat Saen Soukharam. It is the most beautiful and the biggest standing Buddha statue in Luang Prabang.
