Sangharaj Dhammayana Maha Thera (Bounthan Boupharat, 1892 - 1984) from Vat Mai Souvannaphoumaram, the last Supreme Patriach of the Lao Kingdom. This photograph was taken when he practised Parivassakamma (ritual retreat of purification) at Vat Sangkalol in 1960. The original print was taken by the U.S Information Service, Vientiane.
