Buddhist ceremony [1950]

Khot Sim (The main hall' s boundary-marking and stone-setting) ceremony at Vat Saen Sukharam in B.E. 2493 (C.E. 1950), heads by The Sangaraj Dhammayana Mahathera (Bounthan Boupharat - sitting on a chair in middle) from Vat Mai Suvannaphoumaram.Khot Sim ceremony has renewed after it had stopped for many years because the committee of the royal palace misunderstood that :" Khot Sim ceremony is making money of monks and novices". Finally, they investigated and knew that it was not true and they understood that Khot Sim ceremony is the Buddha' s decree. They they has allowed to renew this ceremony. The Sangaraj Dhammayana Mahathera (Bounthan Boupharat) thought that many main halls of temples in Luang Prabang did not follow the Buddha' s decree, therefore they have to renew Khot Sim ceremony in every temple which has started from Vat Vixounnarat (photo B0785) and has been continually done in other temples until now.(This photo is the same collection of B0526 and B0565).
