John S. Paraskevopoulos and an unidentified male next to an equatorial fork mount, carrying three cameras, on a temporary stand. Paraskevopoulos is sitting on the ground while the other person is standing. On the ground to the right of Paraskevopoulos is a pith helmet. On the far left is a small telescope on a tall tripod. On the far right is a plank of wood, planted vertically, carrying a mechanical device consisting of a chain, weights, and gears. The chain runs to the mount and is presumably a drive mechanism. Written on the plank is "PHILIP WILLIAMS / MURRAYSBURG / C.P. / VIA BIESJESPOORT". The cluster of cameras consists of a larger central one, flanked by smaller units. Beneath the rectangular stand is a battery. In the background, trellised vines can be seen, as well as a hedge, a building, and several trees. In the far background, distant mountains can be made out. Unidentified location. One of six related images. PLB16_0015 and LSB04_0007 are derivatives. See also PLB38_0002. n/a. Extent: 1 glass plate.
