This collection contains 80 images of the family collection of Ramaiah Chettiyar, all the images are framed prints of studio, outdoor and indoor portraits. This collection is obtained from Visalam Heritage hotel at Kanadukathan, after obtaining their autorization. Visalam mansion is built by K.V.A.L.Ramanathan Chaettiyar for his eldest daughter Visalakshi, who got married to Ramaiah Chettiyar. She passed away when her daughter Vali was 2 years old. Presently Mrs. Vali Muthiah is the owner of the mansion, and she lives in Chennai. Information was obtained from Mr. K.M. Ramanathan, Manager of Visalam Heritage Hotel.
Custodial history: This collection of framed prints belong to Ramaiah Chettiyar, husband of Visalakshi. The Visalam mansion was constructed for Visalakshi by her father K.V.A.L.Ramanathan Chettiyar.
