Tsuntshang Gonpa Archive

Preserved as a sacred relic, the Tsuntshang Gonpa archive is housed within the inner chamber of the main temple. However, despite being positioned on a traditional bookshelf, the manuscripts receive little care since the temple is maintained by laypeople. As a result, the manuscripts are at high risk of damage from factors such as rats and other hazards. Unlike other temples, the Tsuntshang Gonpa Archive contains only a few countable texts. The majority of the texts are inscribed in uchen script on cream-colored Bhutanese handmade paper, although some are xylographs or written in ume script. It is said that the temple possesses a set of the Perfection of Wisdom in One Hundred Thousand Lines, locally known as the Bum, but it is not present in the temple. According to the temple's caretaker, the Bum is kept in Sangkari village, where the villagers conduct an annual Bum recitation ritual.
