This collection includes various scriptures, primarily sutras believed to be the words of the Buddha. Most texts are handwritten, except for the Diamond Cutter Sutra, which is a block print produced from wooden blocks carved at Kupijigsa Lhakhang. The colophon of this text mentions the Lhakhang’s founder and its name. All the manuscripts are meticulously inscribed in black ink on cream-colored, handmade Bhutanese paper. Unfortunately, many of the texts are severely damaged. Preserved as sacred relics, the manuscripts are carefully stored on traditional bookshelves. Wrapped in layers of cloth and secured between two wooden boards fastened with string, these protective measures reflect the profound reverence and meticulous care devoted to preserving this spiritual treasure.
Extent: 6 volumes of manuscripts.
Condition of original material: All the volumes have endured considerable damage from worms, and the majority of the top and bottom pages torn.
