This series features a rich and diverse collection of texts, encompassing literary works, liturgical manuals, philosophical treatises, and personal notes. These writings are organized into multiple volumes, typically in the flexible poti format, with variations in size and style that highlight the unique character of each text. The majority of the texts are handwritten manuscripts in uchen and umey scripts, meticulously transcribed using black ink on cream-colored, handmade Bhutanese paper. The collection also includes block prints produced from woodblocks carved at various locations across Bhutan, adding to its cultural and historical significance. Preserved as sacred relics, the manuscripts are stored with great care on traditional bookshelves. Each volume is wrapped in layers of cloth and secured between two wooden boards, fastened with string. These protective measures reflect the profound reverence and attention devoted to safeguarding this spiritual treasure. However, a significant portion of the collection has suffered damage from rats and worms, posing a persistent challenge for its preservation.
Extent: 82 volumes of manuscripts.
Arrangement: This particular collection does not follow any systematic arrangement.
Author(s)/Creator(s): The majority of the manuscripts in this collection were likely created within the temple itself. The condition of the manuscripts and the style of the script suggest they were produced several centuries ago, reflecting the craftsmanship and traditions of that era.
